This one’s coming up fast! With limited entry, the “StreetStyle” drift competition will be something a bit different compared to usual events! For starters, the biggest detail is the event time - this one begins at 8:30PM (yes, it says P.M.), so leave the kids at home! They will also be doing a different style of qualifying, and judging will have a few tweaks to reflect the “street racing” old school feel where rules were thin and it was more about taking names!

Brought to you by RC DriftClub and DriftNutz, get your spot reserved NOW by clicking the flyer above, or you can just click HERE.

Three of our supporters are heading to Long Beach!

HPI Racing in conjunction with Tamiya America, Inc. and Kyosho of America announce today their participation in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, on April 16-19, 2009.

The three largest hobby manufacturers in the world will be joining forces at the 2009 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach [LBGP], in the first “Radio Control Motorsport Experience.” This collaboration within the hobby community is aimed to increase awareness for the hobby grade radio control market. The combined marketing forces at HPI Racing, Kyosho America and Tamiya America, Inc. are prepared to take their respective companies to a broader audience than what is currently available within the radio controlled hobby industry.

The 2009 LBGP is set to celebrate the 35th anniversary. This will be the second race of the 2009 IndyCar Series brought to you by DIRECTV HD.  Support races include American Le Mans Series, Firestone Indy Lights, SCCA SPEED World Challenge GT Series, Formula Drift Series and the world famous Toyota Pro Celebrity Race featuring an eclectic roster of celebrity icons.

A major component of the event is the Lifestyle Expo, which is held at the Long Beach Convention Center. The Long Beach Convention Center is centrally located within the temporary street circuit that is assembled every year to run the racing event. Over one hundred and eighty-five thousand spectators are expected to pass through the event during its four days of operation exposing the hobby industry to mainstream and motorsport enthusiast crowds.

The Lifestyle Expo contains many attractions for Grand Prix attendees, including a Kids Zone. HPI Racing, Kyosho of America and Tamiya America, Inc. will showcase numerous products as well as demonstrate R/C Drifting, R/C Rock Crawling, R/C Tanks and Mini R/C tabletop race cars.

We invite motorsport fans, hobby enthusiasts and anyone else looking to see what’s new and exciting in R/C.  Radio Control products will be on display and demonstrated at the 2009 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. “Gentlemen, start your engines!”

Overwhelming Global Response in the first 24 Hours

In just the course of the first 24 hours since the site launched, we’ve received an enormous amount of emails from around the world from RC drifters who want to add their team, approve of the site’s goals, or would like to know how to get involved. We’ve received messages from places like Ireland, Croatia, Cebu in the Philippines, Turkey, and other places that, if it weren’t for this site, we would have never known how widespread RC drifting has become!

Speaking of, since we’re swamped we’ve activated an auto-responder for messages sent from the contact page. Don’t worry - we’re going through all the emails as fast as we can, one by one, in order of how they came in our inbox, so if you haven’t gotten a response yet, we’ll send you one soon enough =)

That said, we thank everyone so far who’ve made contact with the Network, and we’re looking forward to the continuing expansion and future standardization of RC drifting!

Site is Live 11.03.08

We had a few minor things to wrap up last weekend, not to mention the Halloween party-a-thon (if you celebrate it like we do) but the website is now live. We’d like to extend thanks and appreciation to all of the manufacturers, shops, organizations, and drift teams that have all signed on from the beginning. We are looking forward to more additions in the near future, as together everyone involved can help bring RC drifting to the next step and beyond!

The Future of RC Drift Competition is NOW!

Welcome to the RC Drift Network website. This site serves as a central hub for RC drifting manufacturers, shops, organizations, and drivers worldwide. It is a means to bring all RC drifting people together, to help organize and advance the growth of RC drifting on a global scale. The RC Drift Network is not a forum, or a storefront, or a team home page. It is a central hub for all things related to RC drifting. With the help of all of the entities involved and in full support of the Network, we hope to work towards globally standardizing RC drifting events and competitions.

Also, the RC Drift Network is not just for organizations - it’s also a resource point for those wishing to start drifting, start a drift competition, or help contribute to the growth of RC drifting - but don’t know where to start. With your help and support, we hope to one day in the future bring RC drifting to mainstream popularity.

We all know that RC drifing is an exciting part of the RC hobby. With door-to-door precision, high speed control, and incredible drift angles, RC drifting is as exciting to do as it is to watch. Full sized drifting started from somewhere and has progressed to worldwide acceptance. We can all, working together, do the same for RC drifting. Join us, get involved, and lets all bring RC drifting into the spotlight!
