One of the biggest names in RC drifting, Hobby Products International was started back in 1986. Fast forward to now, and HPI Racing is one of the largest manufacturers in the industry, and the drift scene is one of their top priorities. Their Drift Meister line-up and highly popular T-Drift compound tires are commonplace at drift competitions worldwide. HPI Racing also hosts their HPI Challenge drift competitions, holds many drift demonstrations at full-sized motorsports events, and are poised to become the number 1 RC drift manufacturer worldwide.

In 1946, A sawmill and lumber company was founded in Oshika, Shizuoka-City, Japan named Tamiya Shoji & Co. Starting with wooden models, the company released their first RC vehicle in 1974, and today Tamiya has grown worldwide into one of the biggest static and radio-controlled model companies in the industry. Their rich heritage exists in the competetive segment of the hobby, with vehicles competing in both electric on-road and nitro off-road classes. The Kyosho Corporation was established in 1963, and in 1970 began selling RC cars. 25 years later they began the Kyosho World Cup, and continues to this day. Kyosho’s product line covers everything from boats, helicopters, planes, die-cast vehicles, robotics, and of course - RC cars. Their 1/27-scale Mini-Z platform is popular worldwide, and is gaining a following with RC drifters.

When it comes to RC drift chassis, Yokomo was the first with their highly successful Drift Package line of replica D1 vehicles. Based on their competetive shaft-driven MR-4 chassis, the Drift Package was part of the emergence of 1/10-scale RC drifting. Their Zero tires were the first drift-specific tire developed for RC drifting, and the Yokomo product line continues to be one of the most popular in RC drifting arenas worldwide. Beginning in 2002, Hot Bodies started as a body and accessory manufacturer, but soon expanded to produce full RC vehicles and Ready-to-Run sets for both off-road and on-road. In 2005 the Hot Bodies Cyclone platform was created, and gained instant success on the race track. The current iteration of the belt-driven Cyclone is one of the more popular choices in RC drifting. In a short period of time, Castle Creations has become one of the biggest ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) manufacturers in the world. Based in Kansas, USA, Castle Creations is one of the leaders in manufacturing of brushless ESCs and motors for flight, sea, and land-based vehicles. Team Tekin is legendary in RC.
